Happy New Year from Mango Jam

Having just returned from a hectic 3 month spell in Rehab (a small village in North Africa, where Murray was learning to play the tambour), Mango Jam is back in action.

You will note from our "Upcoming gigs" page that The Westin and Marriott Courtyard continue to allow us to play, and we also have some private gigs at the Ritz Carlton. Our song list continues to grow, and we hope to incorporate Murray's tambour into the switched on "drum set" we have worked up.

Since our last newsletter many exciting things have happened to the band: Bob's song "Gone Long Gone" won the Pirate's week Song Contest (see the picture on the home page of mangojam.ky). The band was whisked to Breezes By The Bay so that Bob could be presented with this prestigious award. Later, over cocktails and those little sausage things that come on sticks, the band was presented with a complimentary CD of Caymanian Protest Songs. Although very short (only 1 track), it is envisaged that this genre is definitely a growth market.

Velvet Touch - combining a full horn section, Mango Jam and Body and Soul - is set to begin playing in the next month or two, and has many private parties lined up. Watch the Mango Jam site for further details!

On a personal note, John's skin complaint is slowly clearing up, and he should be able to use a swimming pool as soon as the water warms up above 85 degrees.

Finally, we will be inviting fans to contribute to the site by emailing not only pictures but also suggestions on how Murray can pay off his mortgage and retire within 2 years.
